What a cookie is here

A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep. This site also uses local storage, which works the same way for our purposes: it is a place in your browser where we can leave a note. Where this policy says “cookie”, it covers both.

What this site sets

Strictly necessary

mfv.cookie-choice
Local storage. Remembers whether you accepted analytics or chose essential only, so we stop asking. Kept until you clear your browser storage. Set without consent, because without it we cannot honour your choice.
Hosting and security cookies
Session cookies set by our host to route your request and to block automated abuse. They expire when you close the browser.

Analytics — only if you accept

If you choose Accept analytics, we load a privacy-respecting analytics script that counts page views, referrers and rough country, so we can see which pages are useful. It does not build a profile of you, does not follow you to other sites, and is not used for advertising. If you choose Essential only, the script is never loaded and no analytics cookie is set.

What this site does not set

  • No advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • No social network tracking pixels.
  • No cross-site profiling, and no data sold to third parties.

Changing your choice

Clear this site’s data in your browser and the notice will appear again on your next visit, letting you choose differently. In Chrome, Edge and Firefox this is under the padlock icon in the address bar, then site settings or cookies. In Safari it is Settings, then Privacy, then Manage website data.

You can also block cookies entirely in your browser settings. The site will still work; the consent notice will simply appear on every visit, because we have nowhere to record your answer.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We treat analytics as off by default, so a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal changes nothing about how we behave — we already wait to be asked.
